Zumba Assumptions

Many people dread going to the gym and working out to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle. When most people think about fitness they imagine doing cardio and lifting heavy weights to be fit. It seems difficult to workout in a fun way but that is not true. Many people also assume that kids get distracted easily when trying to get them to workout. Young children typically have short attention spans and lots of energy.

Zumba is more like a party rather than a lesson. The steps are very easy and repetitive. Re1 Latin pop music is incorporated to keep the children interested and alert. Choreography is simple throughout. “Dancing zumba will help millions of kids adopt healthy habits that they will carry on throughout their lives.” says children’s Zumba instructor, Sharon Losh.  It is important to teach kids the importance of fitness at a young age. The obesity rate is rising rapidly and it is especially important to promote fitness in children.

I believe that Zumba is all about having fun and staying fit while doing it is only a bonus. It is not impossible to have fun while working out. The best way to workout is to listen to music to keep you motivated and Zumba music is fun and upbeat which is perfect for dancing. The kids will have fun either way even if  they don't follow the routines.
